On 26th March 2020 Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust entered into an agreement with Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council and Age Concern Birmingham to support voluntary, community and faith organisations across Sutton Coldfield to ensure that local residents in need were able to access the support and information they needed during this difficult period. A Sutton Coldfield Together website was created where help could be requested with details of local organisations and groups offering support and services to those in need. During the period to 22nd July 2020, the Trust awarded 13 “Phase 1” Grants totalling £45,145 to support this initiative. Our “usual” Grant Making was placed on hold, due to uncertainty of our own income and the unknown demand for funding from the Community.
On 28th July 2020, our "Phase 2" Response commenced and on 9th September 2020 it was decided to return to "normal Grant Making" with priority given to organisations impacted by Covid-19.
